Monks (unofficial name) are non-playable characters in GetsuFumaDen. They are old caretakers of shrines on the overworld map who will give advice to the player and some will even heal their injuries.
Description
Throughout the course of his journey in Raging Demon Island, on the overworld map screen, Fuma will come across a few special shrines scattered throughout the map. Entering one of these will allow him to speak with its caretaker, an old monk with an unhealthy-looking purple skin who will give him advice, much like the more common Old Women. However, unlike the latter, a few of these individuals will also heal the player when spoken to. The amount of healing received by a monk is about 80%; nonetheless, they can be spoken to as many times as desired in order to receive another healing treatment and thus regain full health, all free of charge.
