The Purse (巾着 Kinchaku) is a field item in GetsuFumaDen. It is a purse full of gold. The amount of gold it contains varies depending on the type of enemy that drops it.

A purse full of gold. They can be randomly dropped by enemies on the side-scrolling stages. The gold collected can then be used at shops to buy items.
The amount of gold each purse contains varies depending on the enemy. Each enemy type drops a determined amount of gold. In general, weaker enemies and/or those which frequently respawn drop lower amounts of gold, whereas stronger enemies in more advanced levels drop larger amounts.
Purses can be farmed by finding a spot where an enemy that's easy to kill can be constantly respawned by moving back and forth, or also from enemies that constantly produce projectiles that can be destroyed (such as the Volcanic Bomb). The drop itself isn't very rare and it will only take a little time to acquire a respectable amount of wealth if one is patient enough.

- Purses don't appear in the dungeon stages after defeating enemies; the gold obtained from a kill in these stages is automatically added to the player's collection upon defeating an enemy.
- Unlike the side-scrolling stages, where each enemy type has a determined amount of gold they can drop, enemies in the dungeon stages yield varying amounts of gold upon defeat.
